CENTER ON HALSTED

The Midwest's largest LGBTQ+ community center. Liz Sung Productions has produced videos for the Human First Gala for over 8 years. Honorees and awardees range from community organizers, artists, and activists to banks, corporations and health providers.

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY (UMMNH)

RESEARCH STATIONS are compact temporary exhibits that offer a window into the research of University of Michigan scientists. They are dispersed through the building, and the research topics align with the subject of the gallery they are in. The videos are also made available to the public after in-person display in a virtual format online. Below are a few samples of this series 6 years in the running.​

Research Station: Primates in VR

Produced, directed, edited and written by Liz Sung Productions, LLC for University of Michigan Museum of Natural History.

Featuring Francine Dolins, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychology in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at University of Michigan-Dearborn. Full virtual series can be viewed here

Dr. Dolins is a comparative psychologist, which means she studies animal behavior in order to learn more about human behaviors. Dr. Dolins and her collaborators use virtual reality (VR) as a way of testing humans and non-human species.

The Ape Cognition and Conservation Initiative (ACCI) in Des Moines, Iowa, is the only research facility in the world dedicated to the study of bonobo cognition and behavior. Dr. Dolins and her team have collaborated with ACCI since 2013. Amanda Epping, Research Coordinator at ACCI works closely with the bonobos on research projects to help collect data.

Jeff Wilson Mantilla, PhD, is Professor of Earth and Environmental Science, and Curator in the Museum of Paleontology at University of Michigan. This series looks at his new discovery of a dwarf sauropod dinosaur. Full virtual series can be viewed here

Meet Jeff Wilson Mantilla.

Sauropods are characterized by pneumatic bones, or bones with air-filled pockets. This allows for their large body size.

Meet Elizabeth Tibbetts

Dr. Tibbetts studies paper wasps. She is particularly interested in how individual wasps make decisions, such as whether to cooperate or compete with others.

To Life! To Deli! Chicagoland Jewish Delis

Produced, directed and edited by Liz Sung Productions, LLC for Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center's "'I’ll Have What She’s Having': The Jewish Deli" exhibition on display from October 22, 2023 - April 14, 2024. The exhibition was organized and circulated by the Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles, California. This short film was produced to help localize this traveling exhibition, and was featured on a large screen next to the entrance of the exhibit.
